Sarah Tenney was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Sarah showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Sarah's parents recognized her potential and enrolled her in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when she was just six years old. She studied under the renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman and quickly became one of his star pupils. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Sarah won numerous competitions and awards, including the prestigious Young Concert Artists International Auditions at the age of 16.
