Lee Dionne is a highly accomplished classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the world of piano performance. Born in 1989 in New York City, Dionne showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents, both music lovers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue her passion. Dionne's early musical education was guided by her mother, who was a pianist herself. She began taking lessons with her mother and quickly progressed, showing a natural aptitude for the instrument. As she grew older, Dionne continued to study with a number of renowned piano teachers, including Yoheved Kaplinsky and Robert McDonald. Dionne's talent was recognized early on, and she began to receive numerous awards and accolades for her performances. In 2003, she won first prize in the New York State Music Teachers Association Piano Competition, and in 2004, she was a finalist in the National Chopin Piano Competition. She also won the Juilliard Concerto Competition in 2007, which led to her debut performance with the Juilliard Orchestra. Dionne's career continued to flourish as she entered college. She attended Harvard University, where she studied music and graduated with honors in 2011. During her time at Harvard, she was awarded the Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts, which is given to outstanding artists in the fields of music, theater, and visual arts. After graduating from Harvard, Dionne continued her musical education at the Juilliard School, where she earned a Master of Music degree in piano performance. While at Juilliard, she studied with renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and performed in numerous concerts and recitals. Dionne's career as a professional pianist has been marked by numerous highlights and achievements. In 2012, she won first prize in the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, which is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. She has also performed as a soloist with a number of orchestras, including the Boston Pops, the New York Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Orchestra. In addition to her work as a soloist, Dionne is also a member of the Horszowski Trio, which she co-founded in 2011. The trio, which includes violinist Jesse Mills and cellist Raman Ramakrishnan, has received critical acclaim for their performances and recordings. They have performed at numerous venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Dionne's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by a number of composers, from Bach and Beethoven to contemporary composers such as John Adams and György Ligeti. She is known for her technical precision and her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music she plays. Throughout her career, Dionne has received numerous awards and honors for her performances. In addition to the awards mentioned above, she has been a recipient of the Gilmore Young Artist Award, the Arthur W. Foote Prize, and the Harvard Musical Association's Arthur W. Foote Prize. She has also been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and the Ravinia Steans Music Institute. Dionne's performances have been praised by critics and audiences alike.
