Role:ConductorTerry Longshore is a renowned percussionist and composer in the world of classical music. He was born in 1971 in the United States and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. Longshore started playing the drums at a young age and quickly developed a passion for percussion instruments. Longshore attended the University of Oregon, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance. He then went on to earn a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. During his time in college, Longshore studied with some of the most renowned percussionists in the world, including Michael Rosen, Allen Otte, and James Culley. After completing his education, Longshore began his career as a percussionist and composer. He has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras and ensembles in the world, including the Oregon Symphony, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. Longshore has also performed at some of the most renowned music festivals in the world, including the Oregon Bach Festival, the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, and the Bang on a Can Marathon. Longshore is known for his innovative approach to percussion music. He has collaborated with many composers to create new works for percussion instruments, and he has also composed his own music. Longshore's compositions often incorporate elements of world music, jazz, and contemporary classical music. One of Longshore's most notable performances was his solo performance of John Cage's "4'33" at the Oregon Bach Festival in 2012.
