Peter Branoff was born on May 12, 1985, in Moscow, Russia. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Branoff was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Branoff's talent was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at the age of six. He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Branoff moved to the United States to attend the Juilliard School in New York City. He studied under the renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2007. After graduating from Juilliard, Branoff began performing extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso pianist, known for his technical skill and emotional depth. One of Branoff's most notable performances was at the 2010 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He was the only American pianist to make it to the final round and was awarded the Silver Medal for his performance. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Chopin and Rachmaninoff. In addition to his performing career, Branoff is also a dedicated teacher.
