He began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he received his diploma in piano performance with honors. He then continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany, where he earned a master's degree in piano performance. Irene Bonfanti was born in Madrid, Spain in 1988. She started playing the cello at the age of eight and was immediately drawn to the instrument's rich and expressive sound. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, where she received her diploma in cello performance with honors. She then went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, where she earned a master's degree in cello performance. The two musicians met while studying in Hamburg and quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music. They formed Duo Bonfanti in 2012 and began performing together regularly. Their performances were immediately well-received, and they quickly gained a reputation for their dynamic and expressive interpretations of classical music. One of the duo's early highlights was their performance at the 2013 International Chamber Music Festival in Hamburg. Their performance of Beethoven's Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 3 in A Major received a standing ovation from the audience and was praised by critics for its technical precision and emotional depth.
