Severin Cornet was a Belgian composer of classical music who lived from 1856 to 1929. He was born in the city of Liège, which was then part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands. Cornet showed an early interest in music and began studying the piano at a young age. He later studied composition with the renowned Belgian composer François-Auguste Gevaert at the Brussels Conservatory.
