Duo Koroliov is a classical music duo consisting of pianist Evgeni Koroliov and his wife, cellist Ljupka Hadzi-Georgieva. The duo has gained international recognition for their exceptional performances and interpretations of classical music. Evgeni Koroliov was born on May 1, 1949, in Moscow, Russia. He began playing the piano at the age of five and went on to study at the Moscow Conservatory under the tutelage of Lev Naumov. Koroliov quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was awarded first prize at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig in 1972. After winning the competition, Koroliov began performing extensively throughout Europe and the United States. Hadzi-Georgieva continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany, where she met Koroliov. The two musicians fell in love and were married in 1993. They began performing together as Duo Koroliov and quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional musicality and chemistry.
