Dace Strautmane is a Latvian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist and chamber musician. Born on August 22, 1987, in Riga, Latvia, Strautmane showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with some of the best teachers in Latvia. As a child, Strautmane participated in numerous competitions and festivals, winning several awards and accolades along the way. Her talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and she quickly became known as one of the most promising young pianists in Latvia. After completing her studies at the Emils Darzins Music School in Riga, Strautmane went on to study at the Latvian Academy of Music, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. She then continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where she earned a Master's degree in Piano Performance. Throughout her career, Strautmane has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Wigmore Hall in London, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also performed with some of the most renowned orchestras in Europe, including the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Strautmane's career was her performance at the 2010 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. She was one of only 84 pianists from around the world to be selected to compete in the prestigious competition, and she made it to the semi-finals before being eliminated. Despite not winning the competition, Strautmane's performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and it helped to establish her as one of the most talented young pianists of her generation. In addition to her work as a solo pianist, Strautmane is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with some of the most renowned chamber ensembles in Europe, including the Latvian String Quartet and the Riga Chamber Players. Her collaborations with other musicians have been praised for their sensitivity and musicality, and she has been recognized for her ability to work seamlessly with other performers. Throughout her career, Strautmane has received numerous awards and accolades for her work as a pianist and chamber musician.
