From a young age, Micu showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Micu's parents recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Maria Fotino, at the age of six. Under her guidance, Micu quickly developed his skills and began performing in public at the age of eight. In 1995, Micu won his first major competition, the National Piano Competition in Romania. This victory marked the beginning of his career as a professional musician. He continued to win numerous competitions throughout his teenage years, including the George Enescu International Piano Competition in 2001. After completing his studies at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca, Micu moved to Vienna, Austria, to further his education. He studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Paul Badura-Skoda, at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. During his time in Vienna, Micu continued to perform in public and gained recognition for his exceptional talent. In 2007, he won the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, which further cemented his reputation as a rising star in the classical music world. Micu's career continued to flourish, and he began performing in major concert halls around the world. He has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to his performances, Micu has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. His recordings have received numerous awards and accolades, including the Gramophone Award for Best Instrumental Recording in 2012. Throughout his career, Micu has been recognized for his exceptional talent and dedication to classical music.
