The Jerusalem String Trio is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2011. The trio consists of three highly skilled musicians: violinist Sergei Bresler, cellist Ori Epstein, and violist Guy Ben-Ziony. The ensemble is known for its exceptional performances of classical music, particularly works by composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert. The founding of the Jerusalem String Trio was the result of a chance meeting between Bresler and Epstein. The two musicians had both recently moved to Jerusalem and were looking for opportunities to perform together. They were introduced by a mutual friend and quickly discovered that they shared a passion for chamber music. They began rehearsing together and soon realized that they had a natural chemistry that made their performances truly exceptional. In 2011, the duo was joined by Ben-Ziony, a highly respected violist who had previously performed with the Jerusalem Quartet. With Ben-Ziony on board, the trio was complete and began performing together regularly. They quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional musicianship and their ability to bring new life to classical works. One of the highlights of the Jerusalem String Trio's career was their performance at the 2013 Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival. The festival is one of the most prestigious classical music events in the world, and the trio was honored to be invited to perform. Their performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and helped to establish the ensemble as one of the most exciting new groups in classical music. Since then, the Jerusalem String Trio has continued to perform at major venues and festivals around the world. They have performed at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Lincoln Center in New York City, among many others. In 2014, they were awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, which recognizes exceptional young musicians. The award provided the trio with funding to support their performances and recordings, and helped to raise their profile even further. The Jerusalem String Trio has also released several critically acclaimed recordings. Their debut album, which featured works by Beethoven and Schubert, was released in 2013 and received widespread praise from critics. Their second album, which featured works by Brahms, was released in 2016 and was similarly well-received.
