Iris Saunders was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Iris showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Iris received her early musical education at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned violinist, Professor David Takeno. She later went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree. Throughout her career, Iris has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Riccardo Muti. One of the highlights of Iris's career was her performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The performance was widely praised by critics, with The Guardian describing it as "a stunning display of virtuosity and musicality." In addition to her performances as a soloist, Iris is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has performed with many of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. Iris has received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2007, she was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. She was also a recipient of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship in 2010, which provides financial support and career development opportunities to exceptional young musicians. In addition to her performing career, Iris is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Juilliard School in New York City, and has given masterclasses around the world. Iris is known for her passionate and expressive playing, as well as her technical mastery of the violin. She is widely regarded as one of the most talented and exciting young musicians of her generation, and her performances continue to captivate audiences around the world.
