La Rêveuse is a French classical music ensemble that specializes in the performance of Baroque music. The ensemble was founded in 2004 by the husband and wife team of Florence Bolton and Benjamin Perrot, who serve as the ensemble's artistic directors. The ensemble takes its name from a piece by the French Baroque composer Marin Marais, which translates to "The Dreamer." Florence Bolton is a viola da gamba player and Benjamin Perrot is a lutenist. Both musicians have extensive experience performing Baroque music and have collaborated with numerous other ensembles and musicians throughout their careers. They founded La Rêveuse with the goal of exploring the rich repertoire of Baroque music and bringing it to audiences around the world. The ensemble's core members include Florence Bolton and Benjamin Perrot, as well as violinist Stéphan Dudermel, flutist Jean-Marc Goujon, and harpsichordist Justin Taylor. The ensemble also frequently collaborates with other musicians and vocalists, depending on the repertoire being performed. La Rêveuse has performed at numerous prestigious venues and festivals around the world, including the Festival de Saintes, the Festival de Sablé, the Festival de Lanvellec, and the Festival de Musique Baroque de Pontoise. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was their 2014 concert at the Festival de Saintes, where they performed a program of music by the French Baroque composer François Couperin. Their 2015 album "Le Concert Royal de la Nuit" was awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or award, which is given to the best classical recordings of the year.
