The Warmia National Orchestra is a classical music ensemble based in Olsztyn, Poland. The orchestra was founded in 1994 by the Warmia and Mazury Regional Government, with the aim of promoting classical music in the region and beyond. The orchestra's main members include its conductor, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, and its concertmaster, Tomasz Tomaszewski. Nałęcz-Niesiołowski has been the orchestra's conductor since its founding, and has led the ensemble to numerous successes over the years. Tomaszewski, a renowned violinist, has been the orchestra's concertmaster since 2001. The Warmia National Orchestra has performed extensively throughout Poland and Europe, and has collaborated with many renowned soloists and conductors. Some of the orchestra's most notable performances include its appearance at the 2004 Warsaw Autumn Festival, where it performed works by Polish composers Witold Lutosławski and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. The orchestra has also performed at the prestigious Rheingau Musik Festival in Germany, and has toured extensively in Italy, Spain, and the Czech Republic. In addition to its live performances, the Warmia National Orchestra has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of works by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski. The orchestra's recording of Szymanowski's Symphony No. 3, conducted by Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, was awarded the prestigious Fryderyk Award in 2006. The Warmia National Orchestra has also been recognized for its educational and outreach programs.
