Artist Info
Lore Binon is a Belgian soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born in 1985 in the city of Ghent, Binon grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. Her mother was a pianist and her father was a conductor, so it was only natural that Binon would develop a love for music. Binon began her musical training at the age of six, when she started taking piano lessons. However, it was not until she was a teenager that she discovered her true passion for singing. She began taking voice lessons and quickly realized that she had a natural talent for singing. Binon went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, where she received a degree in vocal performance. She then continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany, where she studied with renowned soprano Barbara Schlick. Binon's career as a professional singer began in 2009, when she won first prize at the International Vocal Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. This was a major turning point in her career, as it gave her the opportunity to perform in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. Since then, Binon has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. She has also performed at major music festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival and the Edinburgh International Festival. One of the highlights of Binon's career was her performance in the world premiere of Kaija Saariaho's opera "Only the Sound Remains" at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam in 2016. The opera was a critical and commercial success, and Binon's performance was widely praised. Binon has also received numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2012, she was awarded the prestigious Klara Award for Best Young Talent in Classical Music. She has also been nominated for several other awards, including the International Opera Awards and the Belgian Music Industry Awards. Despite her success, Binon remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to work hard and strive for excellence in everything she does. Her passion for music is evident in every performance, and she is widely regarded as one of the most talented sopranos of her generation. In addition to her work as a performer, Binon is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught masterclasses at several universities and conservatories, and she is committed to helping young singers develop their talents and achieve their goals. Overall, Lore Binon is a true star in the world of classical music. Her talent, dedication, and passion for music have made her one of the most respected and admired sopranos of her generation.
