Graham Reynolds is a contemporary classical music composer, known for his innovative and eclectic style. The opera was commissioned by the Fusebox Festival in Austin and premiered in 2016. The piece features a libretto by Mexican-American writer Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol and incorporates elements of traditional Mexican music. In addition to his classical compositions, Reynolds has also composed music for film and television. He has worked with director Richard Linklater on several films, including "A Scanner Darkly" and "Bernie," and has also composed music for the television series "Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures." Reynolds' music is known for its eclectic blend of styles and influences, and he often incorporates elements of jazz, rock, and electronic music into his compositions.
