From a young age, Rohaczewski showed a great interest in music and began studying piano and composition at the age of six. Rohaczewski's early compositions were heavily influenced by the works of his father, who was a prominent composer in Poland. However, as he grew older, Rohaczewski began to develop his own unique style, which was characterized by a blend of traditional classical music and modern techniques. In 1965, Rohaczewski enrolled at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied composition under the guidance of renowned composer Kazimierz Sikorski. After graduating from the university in 1970, Rohaczewski began working as a freelance composer, writing music for various ensembles and orchestras. One of Rohaczewski's most notable works from this period was his Symphony No. 1, which was composed in 1975. The symphony was a powerful and emotional work that reflected the political turmoil and social unrest in Poland at the time. It was widely praised for its innovative use of orchestration and its powerful message. In the 1980s, Rohaczewski's music began to evolve, with the composer experimenting with new techniques and styles. He began incorporating elements of jazz and rock music into his compositions, creating a unique and eclectic sound that was unlike anything else in the classical music world. One of Rohaczewski's most notable works from this period was his Concerto for Jazz Band and Symphony Orchestra, which was composed in 1983. The concerto was a groundbreaking work that blended the worlds of classical music and jazz, featuring a jazz band and a symphony orchestra playing together in perfect harmony. Throughout his career, Rohaczewski composed a wide range of works, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and operas. His music was characterized by its emotional depth, innovative use of orchestration, and unique blend of traditional and modern techniques. Rohaczewski's contributions to the world of classical music were widely recognized, and he received numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In 1998, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a Polish citizen.
