The University of Northern Iowa Concert Chorale is a renowned classical music artist that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over 50 years. The group was founded in 1965 by Dr. James Gallagher, who served as the director of choral activities at the University of Northern Iowa for over 30 years. The Concert Chorale is made up of approximately 70 undergraduate and graduate students who are selected through a rigorous audition process. The group is known for their exceptional vocal abilities and their ability to perform a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary. Over the years, the Concert Chorale has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Vatican. They have also performed with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of the Concert Chorale's career was their performance at the 2008 National Collegiate Choral Organization Conference, where they were selected to perform as one of only six choirs from across the country. The group received rave reviews for their performance, with critics praising their exceptional vocal abilities and their ability to connect with the audience. In addition to their performances, the Concert Chorale has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. They have been recognized by the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Iowa Choral Directors Association, among others.
