The San Antonio Chamber Choir is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over a decade. The choir was founded in 2005 by Scott MacPherson, a highly respected choral conductor and music educator. MacPherson had a vision of creating a world-class choral ensemble that would showcase the beauty and power of choral music to audiences in San Antonio and beyond. Under MacPherson's leadership, the San Antonio Chamber Choir quickly established itself as one of the premier choral ensembles in the region. The choir's repertoire is diverse, ranging from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, and they are known for their impeccable musicianship and stunning vocal blend. The choir is made up of 24 auditioned singers, all of whom are highly trained and experienced musicians. Over the years, the San Antonio Chamber Choir has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the country, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the National Cathedral. They have also collaborated with some of the most respected conductors and composers in the choral world, including Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, and Ola Gjeilo. One of the highlights of the choir's career came in 2010, when they were invited to perform at the American Choral Directors Association National Conference in Dallas. This was a tremendous honor for the choir, as only a handful of choirs from around the country are selected to perform at this prestigious event. The San Antonio Chamber Choir's performance was met with rave reviews, and they were praised for their exceptional musicianship and artistry. In addition to their performances, the San Antonio Chamber Choir is also committed to music education and outreach. They regularly work with local schools and community organizations to promote choral music and provide opportunities for young singers to learn and grow.
