The Warsaw Quintet is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1985 in Warsaw, Poland. The group is composed of five members who are all accomplished musicians in their own right. The founding members of the Warsaw Quintet were Krzysztof Jakowicz (violin), Piotr Milewski (violin), Marek Czech (viola), Kazimierz Wiłkomirski (cello), and Andrzej Orkisz (piano). The Warsaw Quintet has gained international recognition for their performances of chamber music, particularly the works of Polish composers such as Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Szymanowski, and Witold Lutosławski. The group has also performed works by other notable composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, and Antonín Dvořák. One of the highlights of the Warsaw Quintet's career was their performance at the 1986 International Chamber Music Festival in Osaka, Japan.
