Gabrielle Shek is a classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with her virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in Hong Kong, Shek began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied with some of the most renowned piano teachers in Hong Kong and went on to earn a degree in piano performance from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. After completing her studies, Shek moved to the United States to further her musical education. She enrolled in the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied with the legendary pianist Emanuel Ax. She has also recorded several albums of chamber music, including a critically acclaimed recording of Brahms' Piano Quintet with the Tokyo String Quartet. Throughout her career, Shek has been recognized for her exceptional talent and artistry. She has won numerous awards and honors, including the Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Gilmore Young Artist Award. She has also been named a Steinway Artist, an honor reserved for the world's most distinguished pianists.
