Role:Conductor PerformerAdrija Cepaite is a Lithuanian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist and chamber musician. Born on May 5, 1991, in Vilnius, Lithuania, Adrija showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents, who were both music teachers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Adrija's early musical education was at the National M.K. Ciurlionis School of Arts in Vilnius, where she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue Rasa Vitkauskaite. She later went on to study at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance under the guidance of Professor Petras Geniusas. During her studies, Adrija participated in numerous national and international competitions, winning several awards and prizes. In 2010, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Roma 2010" in Rome, Italy. The following year, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Barletta" in Barletta, Italy. In 2012, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Cantu" in Cantu, Italy. Adrija's success in these competitions led to numerous performance opportunities both in Lithuania and abroad. She has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. She has also performed with several orchestras, including the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, and the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra. One of Adrija's most notable performances was at the 2015 Vilnius Piano Festival, where she performed a solo recital of works by Chopin, Liszt, and Prokofiev. Her performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, with one reviewer describing her playing as "virtuosic and deeply expressive." In addition to her solo performances, Adrija is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with several renowned musicians, including violinist Gidon Kremer and cellist Mischa Maisky. In 2017, she formed the Cepaite Trio with violinist Raimondas Sviackevicius and cellist Gleb Pyšniak. The trio has since performed in several countries, including Lithuania, Germany, and Italy. She has a particular affinity for the music of Chopin, Liszt, and Prokofiev, and has recorded several albums featuring their works.
