He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known violinist in the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. Vladimir showed an interest in music from a young age and began playing the piano at the age of five. Vladimir's talent was quickly recognized, and he began studying at the Moscow Conservatory at the age of ten. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in Russia, including Lev Naumov and Yakov Flier. Vladimir's hard work and dedication paid off, and he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory with honors in 1977. After graduating, Vladimir began performing in concerts and recitals throughout Russia and Europe. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented and passionate pianist, and his performances were praised for their technical skill and emotional depth. In 1980, Vladimir won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. This win catapulted him to international fame, and he began performing in concerts and recitals all over the world. Throughout his career, Vladimir was known for his interpretations of the works of Russian composers, particularly Sergei Rachmaninoff and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
