Seta Karakashian is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, on May 15, 1965, Seta was raised in a family that valued music and the arts. Her parents were both musicians, and they encouraged her to pursue her passion for music from a young age. Seta began her musical journey by learning to play the piano at the age of six. She showed a natural talent for the instrument and quickly progressed to more advanced pieces. Her parents recognized her potential and enrolled her in the Lebanese National Conservatory of Music, where she received formal training in piano performance. Seta's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age. She won her first piano competition at the age of nine and continued to win numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 1983, she was awarded a scholarship to study at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. During her time in Moscow, Seta studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the world, including Lev Naumov and Mikhail Voskresensky. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Russia, including the Bolshoi Theatre and the Moscow Conservatory. Seta's talent and hard work paid off when she graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with honors in 1988. She returned to Lebanon and began performing in concerts and recitals across the country. Her performances were well-received, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists in the region. In 1990, Seta moved to the United States to pursue further studies in music. She enrolled in the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under the tutelage of Yoheved Kaplinsky. She also had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned musicians in the world, including Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman. Seta's time at Juilliard was a turning point in her career. She honed her skills as a pianist and developed a deeper understanding of music theory and composition. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. After graduating from Juilliard with a Master of Music degree in 1992, Seta began performing in concerts and recitals across the United States. Her performances were well-received, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists in the country. Seta's talent and hard work were recognized when she was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1995. The grant is awarded to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise in their field. Seta was the first Lebanese musician to receive the award, and it was a significant milestone in her career. Seta continued to perform in concerts and recitals across the world, including in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She also began teaching at the Juilliard School, where she shared her knowledge and expertise with the next generation of musicians. In 2005, Seta released her first album, "Seta Karakashian Plays Chopin." The album was well-received and showcased Seta's exceptional talent as a pianist.
