Richard di Renzi is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of opera. He was born on August 22, 1948, in New York City, USA. His parents were both musicians, and they encouraged him to pursue a career in music from a young age. Richard di Renzi showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Richard di Renzi's musical education began at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, where he studied piano and voice. He later went on to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he received a degree in voice. During his time at the Curtis Institute, Richard di Renzi was mentored by the renowned opera singer, Eileen Farrell. After completing his studies, Richard di Renzi began his career as a professional opera singer. He made his debut in 1972 at the New York City Opera, where he performed the role of Count Almaviva in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." Some of his most notable performances include the role of Don Giovanni in Mozart's "Don Giovanni," the title role in Verdi's "Rigoletto," and the role of Scarpia in Puccini's "Tosca." He has also performed in several world premieres, including the role of the Father in Carlisle Floyd's "Cold Sassy Tree." Richard di Renzi has performed with many prestigious opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
