Christina Johnston is a British soprano singer who has gained international recognition for her exceptional vocal range and ability to perform a wide range of classical music genres. Born on 19th June 1990 in Framlingham, Suffolk, England, Christina grew up in a musical family and started singing at a young age. Her mother was a music teacher, and her father was a professional musician who played the trumpet. Christina's musical talent was evident from a young age, and she started taking singing lessons at the age of nine. She quickly developed a passion for classical music and began performing in local concerts and competitions. At the age of 13, Christina won the prestigious Suffolk Young Musician of the Year award, which gave her the opportunity to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London. After completing her education, Christina went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. During her time at the Royal College of Music, Christina was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother Rose Bowl for her outstanding contribution to the college's music program. Christina's career as a professional classical singer began in 2013 when she was invited to perform at the Royal Opera House in London. Her performance was well-received, and she was soon offered a contract to perform with the Royal Opera House's chorus. Christina's talent and dedication quickly caught the attention of the opera world, and she was soon offered roles in several major productions. One of Christina's most notable performances was in the 2015 production of Mozart's "The Magic Flute" at the Royal Opera House. Christina played the role of the Queen of the Night, a notoriously difficult role that requires exceptional vocal range and control. Christina's performance was widely praised, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. In addition to her work with the Royal Opera House, Christina has also performed with several other major opera companies, including the English National Opera, the Welsh National Opera, and the Scottish Opera. She has also performed in several international productions, including performances in Germany, Italy, and the United States. Christina's vocal range is one of her most impressive attributes, and she is known for her ability to hit the highest notes in classical music. Her vocal range spans over four octaves, which is a rare feat for any singer. Christina's ability to perform such a wide range of music genres has also made her a popular choice for crossover performances, where she combines classical music with pop and rock music. In addition to her work as a performer, Christina is also a dedicated music educator. She has worked as a vocal coach and mentor for young singers, and she has also given masterclasses at several music schools and universities. Christina has received several awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Prize at the Cardiff Singer of the World competition. This award is given to the singer who receives the most votes from the audience during the competition's final round. Christina's success as a classical singer has also led to several recording opportunities.
