Andy Meyerson is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself in the world of percussion. Born in 1987 in the United States, Meyerson grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist, which meant that Meyerson was surrounded by music from the very beginning. Meyerson began playing the drums when he was just six years old, and he quickly developed a passion for percussion. He started taking lessons and practicing regularly, and by the time he was in high school, he was already performing in local bands and ensembles. After graduating from high school, Meyerson went on to study music at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance. During his time at the university, Meyerson had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned percussionists in the world, including Michael Udow and Joseph Gramley. After completing his undergraduate studies, Meyerson went on to pursue a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance at the Yale School of Music. While at Yale, Meyerson continued to hone his skills as a percussionist and began to develop a reputation as a talented and innovative musician. One of the highlights of Meyerson's career came in 2012 when he was selected to participate in the Bang on a Can Summer Festival. This festival is one of the most prestigious events in the world of contemporary music, and it attracts some of the most talented and innovative musicians from around the globe. During the festival, Meyerson had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned composers and performers in the world, including Steve Reich, David Lang, and Julia Wolfe. He also had the chance to perform in some of the most iconic venues in New York City, including the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Lincoln Center. Meyerson's performance at the Bang on a Can Summer Festival was a turning point in his career, and it helped to establish him as one of the most exciting and innovative percussionists of his generation. Since then, he has gone on to perform at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the world, including the Kennedy Center, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention.
