He was born in the town of Lille, in the north of France, and showed an early interest in music. His parents were both amateur musicians, and they encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Dupuits began his musical education at a young age, studying the violin and the harpsichord. He showed great talent and was soon recognized as a prodigy. He was accepted into the prestigious Conservatoire de Paris at the age of 14, where he studied composition with the renowned composer Jean-Philippe Rameau. Dupuits quickly established himself as a talented composer, and his works were performed in some of the most prestigious venues in Paris. He was particularly known for his operas, which were praised for their beautiful melodies and dramatic flair. His most famous opera, "Les Amours de Ragonde," premiered in 1772 and was a great success. In addition to his operas, Dupuits also composed a number of instrumental works, including symphonies, concertos, and chamber music.
