Nytch attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and a Master of Music degree in Composition and Theory. He also holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Nytch's compositions are known for their eclectic style, blending elements of classical, jazz, and rock music. His works have been performed by numerous orchestras and ensembles, including the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. One of Nytch's most notable works is his Symphony No. 1, which was commissioned by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and premiered in 2009. The symphony is a four-movement work that explores the theme of transformation, with each movement representing a different stage of transformation. The piece has been praised for its emotional depth and innovative use of orchestration. Another significant work by Nytch is his opera, The Flood, which was commissioned by the Central City Opera and premiered in 2013. The opera tells the story of the devastating flood that hit Colorado in 2013 and its impact on the people of the state.
