Artist Info
Daisy Jopling is a British classical violinist, composer, and recording artist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and innovative approach to classical music. Born on October 27, 1973, in London, England, Jopling began playing the violin at the age of five and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and later at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received a full scholarship. Jopling's career as a professional musician began in the early 1990s when she joined the London Symphony Orchestra as a first violinist. She also performed with other major orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra. In addition to her work as an orchestral musician, Jopling began to establish herself as a soloist, performing in recitals and concerts throughout Europe and the United States. One of Jopling's most notable performances came in 1997 when she was invited to perform at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II. She played a solo violin piece that she had composed herself, which was inspired by the Pope's message of peace and unity. The performance was broadcast on television and received widespread acclaim. In 2000, Jopling released her debut album, "Key to the Classics," which featured her own arrangements of classical pieces by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart. The album received critical praise and helped to establish Jopling as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the next several years, Jopling continued to perform and record, releasing several more albums, including "Awakening" (2003), "The String Quartet Experience" (2006), and "The Transcendental Violin" (2010). She also collaborated with other musicians and artists, including the rock band Yes, with whom she toured in 2001 and 2002. In addition to her work as a performer and recording artist, Jopling has also been active in music education and outreach. She has conducted workshops and masterclasses for young musicians and has worked with organizations such as the New York Philharmonic's Very Young Composers program and the Harmony Program, which provides music education to underserved communities in New York City. Jopling's innovative approach to classical music has earned her numerous accolades and awards throughout her career. In 2007, she was awarded the prestigious "Artist of the Year" award by the New York State Music Teachers Association. She has also been recognized for her contributions to music education, receiving the "Outstanding Educator" award from the Long Island Arts Alliance in 2012. Today, Jopling continues to perform and record, and she remains committed to using her music to inspire and connect people from all walks of life. Her unique blend of classical and contemporary styles has made her a beloved figure in the classical music world, and her dedication to music education and outreach has helped to ensure that the next generation of musicians will continue to thrive and innovate.More....
