Pogson's musical education began at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied piano under the tutelage of Harold Craxton. He later went on to study at the Paris Conservatoire, where he was taught by Yvonne Lefébure. Pogson's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly established himself as a gifted pianist. In 1961, Pogson made his debut at the Wigmore Hall in London, which marked the beginning of his successful career as a concert pianist. He went on to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Pogson's performances were always highly acclaimed, and he was praised for his technical skill and musical interpretation. He was particularly renowned for his performances of the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Schubert.
