The Gémeaux Quartett is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over a decade. The quartet was founded in 2009 by four talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music and a desire to create something truly special. The founding members of the Gémeaux Quartett are violinists Sarah Kapustin and Sara Bitlloch, violist Emmanuel François, and cellist Carles Puig. All four musicians had already established themselves as accomplished performers before coming together to form the quartet. Sarah Kapustin had won numerous awards and performed with prestigious orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. Sara Bitlloch had won first prize at the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal and had performed as a soloist with the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Emmanuel François had won first prize at the International Viola Competition in Tertis and had performed with the Orchestre National de France. Carles Puig had won first prize at the International Cello Competition in Llanes and had performed with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra. The quartet's name, Gémeaux, is French for "twins," and reflects the close musical and personal bond between the four musicians. The quartet's repertoire includes works by classical composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, as well as contemporary composers such as György Kurtág and Thomas Adès. One of the highlights of the Gémeaux Quartett's career was their performance at the 2011 International Chamber Music Festival in Verbier, Switzerland. The quartet received critical acclaim for their performance of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131. The quartet's interpretation of the piece was praised for its emotional depth and technical precision. In 2013, the Gémeaux Quartett won first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Bordeaux, France. The quartet's performance of Bartók's String Quartet No. 4 impressed the judges with its intensity and virtuosity.
