The group's name, Pfälzische Kurrende, is derived from the German word "Kurrende," which refers to a group of singers who perform Christmas carols and other religious songs. The group was founded by the late Dr. Hans-Joachim Erhard, who was a music teacher and conductor. Dr. Erhard had a passion for choral music and wanted to create a group that would showcase the talents of young singers in the region. He recruited a group of boys from local schools and churches to form the Pfälzische Kurrende. The group's early years were marked by hard work and dedication. Dr. Erhard spent countless hours rehearsing with the boys, teaching them the fundamentals of choral singing and instilling in them a love for classical music. The group's first performance was in 1950, and it was an instant success. The boys' angelic voices and impeccable harmonies captivated the audience, and the Pfälzische Kurrende quickly became a fixture in the local music scene. Over the years, the group has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Germany and around the world.
