Sundsvall Wind Quintet is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1985 in Sundsvall, Sweden. The group consists of five members who play various wind instruments, including the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French horn. The founding members of the group were all graduates of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and they shared a passion for chamber music and wind quintet repertoire. The main members of the Sundsvall Wind Quintet are Anders Jonhäll (flute), Anders Jakobsson (oboe), Kjell Fagéus (clarinet), Per Johansson (bassoon), and Magnus Lundén (French horn). Each member of the group is a highly skilled musician with extensive experience in both solo and ensemble performance. Together, they have developed a unique sound and style that has earned them critical acclaim and a loyal following among classical music enthusiasts. Over the years, the Sundsvall Wind Quintet has performed at numerous venues and festivals throughout Sweden and Europe. They have also collaborated with other musicians and ensembles, including the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Stockholm Chamber Brass. Some of the highlights of their major performances include their appearance at the Stockholm International Chamber Music Festival in 1990, their performance at the International Wind Quintet Festival in Rotterdam in 1993, and their concert at the Wigmore Hall in London in 1998. In addition to their live performances, the Sundsvall Wind Quintet has also recorded several albums of wind quintet repertoire. Their first album, "Sundsvall Wind Quintet," was released in 1989 and featured works by Mozart, Nielsen, and Françaix. They have since released several other albums, including "French Wind Music" (1993), "Swedish Wind Music" (1996), and "Music for Wind Quintet and Piano" (2001).
