Paivi Jarvio is a Finnish conductor who has made a name for herself in the classical music world. She was born on May 17, 1965, in Helsinki, Finland. Her parents were both musicians, and they encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. She began playing the piano at the age of five and later learned to play the violin and the cello. Jarvio studied music at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1988.
