Scenatet is a Danish contemporary classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008. The ensemble is known for its innovative and experimental approach to classical music, and has gained a reputation as one of the most exciting and dynamic ensembles in Europe. The founding members of Scenatet were all graduates of the Royal Danish Academy of Music, and shared a passion for contemporary classical music. The ensemble was formed with the goal of exploring new and unconventional approaches to classical music, and to push the boundaries of what was possible in the genre. The core members of Scenatet are Anna Berit Asp Christensen (flute), My Hellgren (clarinet), Kirsten Riis-Jensen (violin), Mina Fred (cello), and Tanja Zapolski (piano). Over the years, the ensemble has also collaborated with a number of guest musicians and composers, including Simon Steen-Andersen, Niels Rønsholdt, and Bent Sørensen. Scenatet has performed at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in Europe, including the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, and the Donaueschingen Festival. The ensemble has also toured extensively throughout Europe, and has performed in countries such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands. One of the highlights of Scenatet's career was their performance at the 2015 Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, where they premiered a new work by the Danish composer Simon Steen-Andersen. The piece, titled "Run Time Error," was a multimedia work that combined live performance with video and computer-generated sound. The performance was widely praised for its innovative approach to classical music, and helped to cement Scenatet's reputation as one of the most exciting and forward-thinking ensembles in Europe. Scenatet has also been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2012, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Danish Music Award for Best Classical Album for their recording of works by the Danish composer Niels Rønsholdt. The following year, Scenatet was awarded the Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Foundation's Prize for their contributions to contemporary classical music. In addition to their performances and recordings, Scenatet is also committed to education and outreach. The ensemble regularly conducts workshops and masterclasses for young musicians, and has worked with a number of schools and community organizations to promote classical music to a wider audience.
