Les Escapades is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2009 in France. The group is made up of four musicians who are passionate about chamber music and have dedicated their careers to performing and promoting this genre of music. The founding members of Les Escapades are violinist Raphaël Chazal, cellist Guillaume Martigné, clarinetist Jean-Marc Fessard, and pianist Nicolas Royez. Their second album, "Les Escapades en Amérique," was released in 2015 and features works by American composers such as Gershwin, Bernstein, and Copland. In 2013, they were awarded the "Prix de la Critique" by the French music magazine Diapason for their debut album. They were also named "Artists of the Year" by the French radio station France Musique in 2014. The ensemble performed a program of works by American composers, which included Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and Bernstein's "West Side Story Suite."
