Millennial Choirs & Orchestras (MCO) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 by Dr. Brett Stewart. The organization is dedicated to providing young musicians with the opportunity to perform classical music at the highest level possible. MCO has grown rapidly since its inception and now has over 5,000 members in 15 different locations across the United States. Dr. Brett Stewart, the founder of MCO, is a renowned conductor and composer. He has a doctorate in choral conducting from Arizona State University and has conducted choirs and orchestras all over the world. Dr. Stewart founded MCO with the goal of creating a world-class organization that would provide young musicians with the opportunity to perform classical music at the highest level possible. MCO's first performance was in 2008, and it was an immediate success. The choir and orchestra performed Handel's Messiah to a sold-out audience, and the performance was met with rave reviews. Since then, MCO has performed a wide variety of classical music, including works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and many others. One of the highlights of MCO's history was their performance at Carnegie Hall in 2014. The choir and orchestra performed Mozart's Requiem to a packed house, and the performance was met with a standing ovation. This performance was a major milestone for MCO, and it helped to establish the organization as one of the premier classical music groups in the United States. MCO has also won numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2016, the organization was awarded the American Prize in Choral Performance, which is one of the most prestigious awards in the classical music world. This award recognized MCO's excellence in choral performance and helped to cement the organization's reputation as one of the best choirs in the country. In addition to their performances, MCO is also dedicated to providing young musicians with the opportunity to learn and grow as musicians. The organization offers a wide variety of educational programs, including workshops, masterclasses, and private lessons. These programs are designed to help young musicians develop their skills and reach their full potential. MCO is also committed to giving back to the community. The organization regularly performs benefit concerts to raise money for local charities and non-profit organizations. These concerts have raised thousands of dollars for a wide variety of causes, including cancer research, education, and homelessness.
