Lauri Porra is a Finnish composer and musician who was born on December 7, 1977, in Helsinki, Finland. He comes from a family of musicians, as his grandfather was a composer and his mother is a cellist. Porra started playing the cello at the age of six and later switched to the bass guitar. He was also interested in classical music and studied composition at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Porra's musical career began in the late 1990s when he joined the Finnish metal band Stratovarius as a bassist. He played with the band for over a decade and contributed to several of their albums, including "Elements Pt. 1" and "Elements Pt. 2." During his time with Stratovarius, Porra also started composing his own music and released his first solo album, "All the Little Devils," in 2005.
