Peñalosa-Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2009 by a group of musicians who shared a passion for early music. The ensemble is named after Francisco de Peñalosa, a Spanish composer and musician who lived in the 15th and 16th centuries. The founding members of Peñalosa-Ensemble were all graduates of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands. Some of the highlights of their performances include: - In 2010, the ensemble performed at the Festival de Música Antigua de Aranjuez in Spain, where they received critical acclaim for their interpretation of Spanish Renaissance music. - In 2012, Peñalosa-Ensemble performed at the Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, one of the most important early music festivals in the world. Their performance of music by Francisco Guerrero was particularly well-received. - In 2014, the ensemble performed at the Festival de Música Antigua de Úbeda y Baeza in Spain, where they were awarded the prize for Best Interpretation of Spanish Renaissance Music. - In 2016, Peñalosa-Ensemble performed at the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada in Spain, where they received a standing ovation for their performance of music by Tomás Luis de Victoria.
