Duo Favori is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by two talented musicians, pianist Yulia Fedoseeva and cellist Dmitry Volkov. The duo has quickly gained recognition for their exceptional performances and unique interpretations of classical music. Yulia Fedoseeva was born in Moscow, Russia, and began playing the piano at the age of five. She studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany. Dmitry Volkov was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and started playing the cello at the age of six. He studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany. The two musicians met while studying in Germany and quickly discovered a shared passion for classical music. They began performing together and soon realized that they had a special chemistry that made their performances truly exceptional. In 2015, they decided to form Duo Favori and dedicate themselves to performing and recording classical music together. Since its founding, Duo Favori has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Hamburg State Opera, and the Munich Philharmonic. They have also performed at numerous festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, and the Verbier Festival. One of the highlights of Duo Favori's career was their performance at the 2017 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. The duo was awarded the Silver Medal, which is a remarkable achievement for such a young ensemble. Their performance was praised for its technical precision, musicality, and emotional depth. Duo Favori has also received critical acclaim for their recordings. Their debut album, released in 2016, features works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Shostakovich.
