Leslie Williams was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Leslie showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. As she grew older, Leslie's love for music only intensified. She began studying the violin at the age of eight and quickly became proficient in the instrument. By the time she was a teenager, Leslie was already performing in local orchestras and winning awards for her musical abilities. After graduating from high school, Leslie attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under some of the most renowned violinists in the world. During her time at Juilliard, Leslie honed her skills and developed a unique style that would set her apart from other classical musicians. In 2007, Leslie made her debut as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, performing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. The performance was a huge success, and Leslie quickly became known as one of the most talented young violinists in the world. Over the next few years, Leslie continued to perform with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. She also began recording albums, with her first album, "Leslie Williams Plays Brahms," being released in 2010. In 2012, Leslie was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, one of the most prestigious awards in classical music. The award recognized Leslie's exceptional talent and potential for a long and successful career in music. In 2014, Leslie performed at the BBC Proms, one of the most important classical music festivals in the world. Her performance of Beethoven's Violin Concerto was hailed as one of the highlights of the festival, and Leslie received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. In addition to her work as a soloist, Leslie is also a dedicated chamber musician. She has performed with some of the most renowned chamber ensembles in the world, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet. Throughout her career, Leslie has remained committed to promoting classical music to a wider audience. She has given numerous masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and has worked with organizations such as the Sphinx Organization and the Harlem School of the Arts to provide opportunities for underprivileged children to learn and perform classical music.
