Kevin M. Geraldi is a renowned conductor and music educator who has made significant contributions to the classical music industry. Born in 1979 in New Jersey, Geraldi showed an early interest in music and began playing the trumpet at the age of 10. He went on to study music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance. After completing his undergraduate studies, Geraldi pursued a Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He then went on to earn a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in orchestral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Throughout his career, Geraldi has held numerous positions as a conductor and music educator. He has served as the music director and conductor of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Symphony Orchestra since 2011, and he has also conducted the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, the Winston-Salem Symphony, and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his work as a conductor, Geraldi is also a dedicated music educator. He has taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and the University of Evansville. He has also served as a guest conductor and clinician at numerous music festivals and workshops throughout the United States. Geraldi's conducting style is characterized by his attention to detail and his ability to bring out the best in his musicians. He is known for his ability to communicate effectively with his orchestra, and for his ability to inspire his musicians to perform at their highest level. Throughout his career, Geraldi has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the classical music industry. In 2014, he was named the North Carolina Symphony's inaugural Maxine Swalin Conducting Fellow, and in 2015, he was awarded the prestigious Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview by the League of American Orchestras. His 2016 performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Symphony Orchestra was described by the Greensboro News & Record as "a triumph of musicianship and interpretation." His 2017 performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 2 with the Winston-Salem Symphony was hailed as "a stunning achievement" by the Winston-Salem Journal. In addition to his work as a conductor and music educator, Geraldi is also an active composer and arranger.
