David Hamilton was a British composer and conductor who was born on March 15, 1946, in Glasgow, Scotland. He grew up in a musical family, with his father being a violinist and his mother a pianist. Hamilton began playing the piano at a young age and showed a natural talent for music. He went on to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he received a degree in composition. He also served as the conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra from 1985 to 1993. He was also inspired by the works of other composers, including Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. One of Hamilton's most notable works is his Symphony No. 1, which was premiered by the Scottish National Orchestra in 1977.
