Pauline Buet was born on May 12, 1990, in Paris, France. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Buet showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Buet's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violinists in France and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional skills. At the age of 12, Buet won first prize in the prestigious Concours National des Jeunes Violonistes, a national competition for young violinists in France. Buet continued to excel in her studies and was accepted into the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. She studied under the guidance of renowned violinists such as Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Olivier Charlier. During her time at the conservatory, Buet participated in numerous competitions and won several awards. In 2010, she won first prize in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, one of the most prestigious violin competitions in the world. This win catapulted her career and led to numerous performance opportunities around the world. Buet has performed with some of the most renowned orchestras in the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated conductors, such as Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel, and Simon Rattle. One of Buet's most memorable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2012. She performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the New York Philharmonic, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. The New York Times praised her performance, stating that "Ms. Buet's playing was technically flawless, with a rich, warm tone that filled the hall." Buet has also been recognized for her recordings. In 2014, she released her debut album, featuring works by Brahms and Schumann. The album received critical acclaim and was nominated for a Grammy Award. In addition to her performing career, Buet is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at some of the most prestigious music schools in the world, including the Juilliard School and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Buet's dedication to music has earned her numerous awards and honors. In 2016, she was awarded the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government, recognizing her contributions to the arts. She was also named a "Rising Star" by the European Concert Hall Organization, which led to a tour of some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe. Despite her success, Buet remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to perform around the world and inspire young musicians with her passion for music.
