Sarah Thornblade is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist. She was born in the United States and grew up in a family of musicians. Her parents were both professional musicians, and they encouraged her to pursue music from a young age. Thornblade began playing the violin when she was just four years old. She showed a natural talent for the instrument and quickly progressed in her studies. She studied with some of the best violin teachers in the country, including Dorothy DeLay and Robert Lipsett. Thornblade attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree. She then went on to earn her Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California. Thornblade has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed as a soloist with many other orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Thornblade's most memorable performances was when she played the solo violin part in John Adams' "The Dharma at Big Sur" with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The piece was written specifically for Thornblade, and she received critical acclaim for her performance. Thornblade has also won many awards for her performances. She was a winner of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, and she has received the Avery Fisher Career Grant. She has also been a finalist in the Naumburg International Violin Competition and the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. In addition to her work as a performer, Thornblade is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Colburn School in Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. She is currently on the faculty at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. Thornblade is known for her passionate and expressive playing style.
