From a young age, Linsén showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He later learned to play the cello and the guitar. Linsén attended the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he studied composition under the tutelage of renowned Swedish composer Anders Hillborg. He also studied orchestration with Hans Gefors and conducting with Jorma Panula. During his time at the college, Linsén composed several works that were performed by the college's ensembles and orchestras. After graduating from the Royal College of Music, Linsén continued his studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. There, he studied composition with Kaija Saariaho and Magnus Lindberg. He also attended masterclasses with composers such as John Adams, Steve Reich, and Thomas Adès. Linsén's music is characterized by its intricate textures, rich harmonies, and use of electronics. He often draws inspiration from nature, literature, and visual art. His works range from solo pieces to large-scale orchestral works and have been performed by ensembles and orchestras around the world. One of Linsén's early works is his String Quartet No. 1, which he composed in 2010. The piece is in four movements and explores the different timbres and textures of the string quartet. The work was premiered by the Kungsbacka Piano Trio and has since been performed by several other ensembles. In 2012, Linsén composed his first orchestral work, titled "Aurora." The piece is inspired by the Northern Lights and features shimmering textures and ethereal melodies. The work was premiered by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and has since been performed by several other orchestras. Linsén's most well-known work is his Symphony No. 1, which he composed in 2015. The piece is in three movements and features a large orchestra, including a choir and electronics. The work explores themes of nature, spirituality, and human emotion. The symphony was premiered by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and has since been performed by several other orchestras, including the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral works, Linsén has also composed several chamber works, including a piano trio, a wind quintet, and a piece for solo cello.
