He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a violinist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Prischepa showed a keen interest in music and began studying the piano at the age of six. Prischepa's musical education continued at the Minsk Music School, where he studied composition, piano, and conducting. He later went on to study at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, where he received a degree in composition in 1975. Throughout his career, Prischepa composed a wide range of works, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and vocal music. His music was known for its emotional depth and technical complexity, and he was highly regarded by his peers in the classical music world. One of Prischepa's most notable works is his Symphony No. 1, which was composed in 1980. The symphony is a powerful and emotional work that showcases Prischepa's skill as a composer. It features a wide range of musical styles and influences, including elements of folk music and modernist techniques. Another highlight of Prischepa's career was his work as a conductor. He served as the principal conductor of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Orchestra from 1985 to 1990, and he also conducted many other orchestras throughout his career. In addition to his work as a composer and conductor, Prischepa was also a respected music educator. He taught composition and music theory at the Belarusian State Academy of Music for many years, and he was known for his dedication to his students and his passion for music education. Sadly, Prischepa passed away on December 28, 2017, at the age of 66.
