Yoko Yamada-Selvaggio is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born in Tokyo, Japan, on May 12, 1975, Yoko showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Yoko's musical education began at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Hiroko Nakamura. She later went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. Yoko continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where she earned her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. Throughout her career, Yoko has performed in numerous prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. She has also collaborated with many renowned musicians, including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Joshua Bell. One of Yoko's most notable performances was her debut recital at Carnegie Hall in 2001. The performance was highly acclaimed by critics and established Yoko as a rising star in the classical music world. She has since performed at Carnegie Hall several times, including a performance in 2010 with the New York Philharmonic. In addition to her solo performances, Yoko has also performed as a member of various chamber music ensembles.
