He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Kroesbergen showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Kroesbergen's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Jan Wijn, at the age of eight. Under Wijn's guidance, Kroesbergen developed his skills and technique, and by the age of 12, he had won his first national piano competition. Kroesbergen continued to excel in his musical studies and went on to study at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. During his time at the conservatory, Kroesbergen studied with some of the most respected pianists in the world, including Menahem Pressler, Murray Perahia, and Maria João Pires. Kroesbergen's talent and hard work paid off, and he quickly gained recognition as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. He won numerous awards and competitions, including the Princess Christina Competition, the Steinway Piano Competition, and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition. Kroesbergen's performances have taken him all over the world, and he has played in some of the most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Kroesbergen's most memorable performances was his debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2009. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, and his performance was met with critical acclaim. The Dutch newspaper, De Volkskrant, called his performance "a revelation" and praised his "impeccable technique and musicality." Kroesbergen is also known for his interpretations of the music of Franz Liszt. He has recorded several albums of Liszt's music, including his most recent album, "Liszt: The Complete Piano Music," which was released in 2020. The album features all of Liszt's solo piano works, and Kroesbergen's performance has been praised for its "virtuosity and sensitivity." In addition to his performing career, Kroesbergen is also a dedicated teacher.
