Seattle Girls' Choir is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1982 by its current artistic director, Jerome Wright. The choir is made up of girls aged 6 to 18 years old and is based in Seattle, Washington. The choir has gained a reputation for its high-quality performances and has won numerous awards and accolades over the years. The founding of Seattle Girls' Choir was inspired by the success of the Northwest Boychoir, which had been founded a few years earlier. Jerome Wright, who had been a member of the Northwest Boychoir, saw the need for a similar organization for girls and decided to start the Seattle Girls' Choir. The choir started with just 30 members and has since grown to over 200 members across five different levels. The choir's main members are the girls who make up the various levels of the choir. The choir is divided into five levels: Piccolini, Dolcine, Vivissimi, Allegra, and Prime Voci. Each level represents a different age group and skill level, with Piccolini being the youngest and Prime Voci being the most advanced. The girls in the choir come from all over the Seattle area and are selected through an audition process. One of the highlights of Seattle Girls' Choir's performances was their appearance at the 1990 Goodwill Games, which were held in Seattle. The choir performed at the opening ceremony of the games, which were attended by thousands of people from around the world.
